i couldnt help laughing at some of the above comments, bad publicity indeed,
90 percent of that show was staged, as is most "reality" tv. if you look past the obvious it actually reflects pleasure beach in an extremly good light, which is pretty much what the brief was, according to the production notes. job done.
you do realise it was a scripted drama practically in every sense, well the scripts are real enough. as are the direction notes, the public for the most part are just that, the public

Well i’ve only ever done Blackpools Maze once and to be honest although a few times I did end up going round in circles, I didn’t find it too difficult … the whole point of a maze is for it to be a challenge and if it were too easy i’d seriously be having a whinge !! lol
However if i did know the maze well enough then if someone was looking desperate for help or like they were getting really annoyed chances are I would help them but only if they were obviously annoyed or distressed as I wouldn’t want to spoil their fun

Great pics Colin!
We went on it a few years back, it was good fun. Doesn’t half let you see the amount of smog that permanently hangs over London though!
I really like London, but can only take it in small doses. Like Cliff, I just feel that there are altogether too many people charging about as if their lives depended on it. It’s stressful just watching them

The flying carpet at pleasure beach was an original forerunner of the modern miami, the main difference being size and construction. the carpet was hinged on all four corners by four arms that created a similar movement to a miami, but in a vertical plane rather than the horizontal one of a miami, and they were anything but small, few photos exist of this machine, but i know of a few owned by an nfa contributer, ill give him a bell to see if they can be shown here.
the tidal wave had two homes within the pleasure beach. one where the fun house originally stood and then later opposite the revolution before being relocated to southport.

Yeah, there never is an option online. You’d need to book over the phone or in person I guess. Even then, I wouldn’t say it’d be in any way guaranteed. It is usually, as you say, pot luck!
I stayed in a TravelInn once, and due to lack of rooms we got upgraded to a family room with a balcony. But the balcony was locked, I guess because we’d paid normal price
Does the Travelodge even have sea views? I kinda presumed all the rooms would be facing 90 degrees from the sea. Even if you could see down to the sea, isn’t the Sandcastle in your way?!

Blame global warming.
But at the same time, be happy that the middle of November is not frosty.
Have you ever fancied working at the Pleasurebeach?

Well as I started this thread I guess I better give my view.
"Simple answer really"
I would’nt work there…..FULL STOP!!
I enjoy visiting the park and riding the rides. To be a ride operator or even work somewhere else in gthe park watching other folk have loads of fun and ride all day while I’m busy working would depress me personally
It’s each to their own..I guess?

I’m wondering whether they shall re-open the South entrance again?
Also, it’s rather dead around that area. When I walk towards those lockers past the Burger King building - going towards the old South entrance & exit, it’s rather dull
Probably why those lockers don’t get used so much imo.

TOTTENHAM HOT SNACK
Juande Ramos walks into Burger King and asks for two Whoppers. The man at the counter says, "OK, you’ll break into the top four and win some silverware."
HOWAY, JOSE
Jose Mourinho was quick to quash rumours linking him with the Newcastle job.
He told reporters, "I’m not that fucking special!"
CELIBATE GOOD TIMES, COME ON
God appears to a bloke and tells him that he must give up smoking, drinking and sex if he wants to get into Heaven. The guy says he’ll try.
A week passes and God visits the man again to see how he’s getting on.
"Not bad," says the bloke. "I’ve given up smoking and drinking but the other day, when my wife bent over the freezer, I had to f**k her up the arse."
"They don’t like that in Heaven," God tells him.
The man replies, "They’re not too happy about it in Morrisons either."
CHUB SCOUT
I went to see Chubby Brown the other week. As soon as he came on stage, I started shouting,"You fat b*stard! You f*t bastard!"
I was then told by security that sort of behaviour wasn’t tolerated at the Labour Party Conference.
