If I lived closer, wasn’t in a band and could afford to live on the wage then it’s something i’d consider,
Having worked as a mechanic in a local tenpin bowling alley for a number of years i’d love to be on the technical side of things and love customer relations too …. plus its the kind of enviroment I enjoy working in !!
Sure customers can be complete asses at times but you can have fun with them and very often the good far outweigh the bad ![]()

Geat pics. Me and my husband went last August. I loved the Diary Room we didn’t buy a dvd but got an ORP! The only thing that put me off was that it was packed, you could barely move. We just couldn’t get to take any decent photos. I do have almost the same picture as you of me and Davina though!

| Come on guys …. lets get a few more !! lol Seriously though, i’m really excited about this meet, the winter weekends were some of my favourite meetups last year as the park was quiet enough to get in a good ride count without barely trying, they were full of randomness and the park had such a cool atmosphere … I hope it’s perfect camera weather too …. managed to get some cracking shots last year and it seems like ages since I photographed the PB !! |
I am hoping for a similar day to the end of last season.
Chilly day but sunny, no rain and not much cloud.
I am fully booked up at the Lor Dean for the 29th, so I’ll be there both days on the final weekend.

Hi Gary,
I can remember the "Rock O Bob" or something like that and can definately remember the Ben Hur ride, which I have to say was one of the most pointless rides Huss have ever made!! I worked in that area of the park for a little while and can also remember the Flying Carpet and Orbiter. Heres one for you, can anyone remember the Mississipee Showboat attraction that was also based in that area? I thought that was quite good at the time.

| I was at the Edinburgh Dungeon this Summer, and wonder if anyone’s been both there AND to the London Dungeon and is able to offer a comparison of these. I was considering visiting the London Dungeon in one of next year’s trips to London.
I notice from the photo above that there’s a courtroom scene in London (which there was also in Edinburgh - I have to admit I didn’t like that one but and wouldnt’ have liked to have been one of the people picked upon by the judge. I don’t like paying money to be humiliated!) |
York I found to be quite chlostrophobic (sp ?), much darker and scarier … london is quite tame but good fun non the less and its definatley worth doing if you’ve not been before if simply to compare to the rest.
They have the court room scene at york too, the one in london was far better but was pretty humiliaiting for some people (one guy kept getting picked on and he didn’t seem too impressed)
The whole experience lasts about an hour and a half to Two hours …. and costs about twenty quid, however theres online discount and plenty of BOGOF vouchers available … so if you do go keep an eye out ![]()

I too Love London. I was lucky to live there for almost a year in my early 20s, and love going back.
I was on the London Eye in the Summer, and really enjoyed it - I was amazed to see so many famous sights all in one go from an angle I’d never seen them before. If you’re interested in London in any way, then this is a must-do experience.
(The London Aquarium is also nearby and is a big disppointment compared to Blackpool Sea life centre (especially considering the price - which I can’t recall, but I did think at the time it was a lot for the experience).

| This COULD be a prank on behalf of PBB - no matter how big a prank it could be or not is irrelivent, the fact that a joke was played by you, and you found it funny……… but because someone else is / could be playing a joke, its not tolerated by you. All im saying is practice what you preach. |
| Quote: |
| Lastly, who said I was ‘peeved’? I can remember a few weeks ago saying something along the lines off I’ll take my hat off to PBB if it is a joke, they pulled it off very well |
Once again, I ask what gives you the impression I cant tolerate a joke? A joke is only a joke as long as its funny. To see little kids crying about one of there favuorite rides closing, (infact involving the public directly it wrong IMO) if its ment for us, start a few rumours, sign up and post a few dodgy messages, but dont send the final train around the way they did on that night.
Good grief, your dealing with the lad here who got a large bucket of water tipped over him on the final day of the Log Flume, and was soaked with a hoze pipe on the Vikingar’s final day, so dont suggest I cant take a joke, especially when you dont even know me. Ask anyone who’s spend a few hours with me at PBB, they’ll tell you I’m always up for a laugh and a joke, regardless of the fact I might well be the target of the joke!

I am going to do a big report in December, but some of my favourite memories;
Pleasure Beach opening day, record BPB Guide turnout!
Opening day photo with JR.
Start of South Beach.
Photos with cast of SBM throughout the season.
James & Dane on PMBO for the first ever time.
Random sayings, like;
1. Length
2. Portion
3. Yarking
4. Tonking it down
5. Paddy
6. Get them on the books!
7. The 12am and 2am rule!
Erm, I am sure there is plenty more and they’ll be mentioned in the big review. Some of them you may not understand, just come to a BPB Guide meet and you’ll soon know lol.
My big end of season review will be posted once the season has totally finished.

We got stopped on the first turn table when the sheilds on the side of the boat got jammed into the mechanics of the turn table! Ended up having to walk down the inside of the ride and around the back area beside the Grand National, better than a ride on Valhalla IMO!

I don’t think of it as second hand, I see it as a coaster that was saved from the scrap heap (or Flamingo Land) and reincarnated as a whole new experience, adding another level to our PB, increasing trade and adding yet another coaster to its fleet.

I log into the forum, then after a few hours I find out that I need to log in once again??
(I shall give you a tip here.)
I was typing out a post and after completing it I clicked on "Preview post", just to make sure everything was fine before clicking "Submit" when suddenly I got that log-in password page
Now this happened before and I lost my post completely, so this time (instead of entering in my username and password) and then finding out that my new post has completely disappeared altogether, I instead used the back-button on my browser which brought me right back to the post I had just typed out whereby I copied it all to my computer, then I logged back in and then pasted my original post back in and then clicked "Preview post", then submit it and everything was fine.
But my advice to everyone (from past experiences) is that when you make a medium to large post, always copy it to your computer before hitting the submit button, just in case you lose it and start getting all upset
I’ve been there, done it and wore the t-shirt on that one before, many times
